Back in 2002, I (Malcolm Sanford) was invited to Chile to present some information on beekeeping in that country. During that visit I developed a database of information not only on that country, but in general. I called it “Apicultura Chilena.” Much of this information is still valid and worth a look. Since that time Chilean beekeeping has become more important, especially now that queens can be directly imported into Canada, but unfortunately, not the United States. Activity in beekeeping and queen rearing continues to develop in Chile.
