Published in 2010, this volume is one of newest beginner’s books in the apicultural literature. Authored by Dr. Malcolm T. Sanford in part as an update to several books previously published by Richard E. Bonney (deceased), it provides as full a guide to beekeeping as any other in its genre. See a major review of the contents published 2012 in the Florida Entomologist, and one opinion of it’s worth at Garreson Publishing.
The book is available through the publisher, Storey Publications, and can be purchased in bulk at a discount (fifteen copies or more) via Tina Parent (firstname.lastname@example.org), phone: 800-827-7444 x 2175. The first 27 pages can be viewed via Google Books. Reviews at Amazon.com have been generally favorable. It has been adopted for the online Beekeeping Certificate Course, Apprentice Level, School of Extended & Lifelong Learning (SELL) at the University of Montana and is carried by Northern Bee Books, publisher of The Beekeepers Quarterly, which claims to have the largest range of new and second-hand beekeeping books in the English-speaking world. Most recently, trademe.com in New Zealand has the book in stock, with free shipping in that country.
