Unfortunately, there are some much more dangerous insects in Asia, including the oriental hornet, and most recently one introduced into France that has now made its way to England, the Asian Hornet Vespa velutina. Most recently another hornet has been encountered in the Western United States, often called incorrectly, the murder hornet. It’s more murderous on honey bees, but has killed people in Japan.
